Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Experience teaching in French is a strong asset
Maintain and establish appropriate guidelines for behaviour
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety and well-being of children
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Requirements:
Fluency in French
Police Vulnerable Safety Check
Up to date immunization as per school policy
Valid First Aid/CPR is preferred
Early Childhood Educator and/or Montessori training an asset

Montessori School of Cambridge, a CCMA accredited and not-for-profit registered charity, is celebrating 50 years of service to the children and families of Cambridge. Cambridge is midway between Toronto and London. It is a beautiful heritage river community, which offers small-town advantages while being part of Canada’s technology triangle community.
We require for September 2023 a Montessori-trained Elementary level Guide to start our 6 to 9 year-old program. Our AMI trained Principal has worked with the school for 15 years and is a former alumni. The Montessori School of Cambridge currently offers Montessori programming to one Toddler Community, two English speaking Children’s Houses and one French speaking Maison des Enfants.
Hours of Montessori elementary staff are generally 8h00 to 16h30 on site. Paid hours are 37.5 per week. Ideal candidates show initiative in team-building, demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly with staff and families, are able to adapt and change to solve problems and demonstrate the ability to plan as well as work in a collaborative manner. Contract period is 10 months, September to June. The salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
There are three weeks paid holidays – two weeks during the December/January Break plus one week for March Break.
Flexible Benefits Package includes: Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Extended Medical and Dental Coverage.
It is also possible to have the benefit amount deposited to a Group RRSP or the benefit amount applied to a child’s tuition fees.
The employee is eligible for up to 10 days for absence because of sickness per school year.
We support professional development through tuition paid conferences and release time. There are four scheduled Professional Development Days. Generally, two days are set aside twice per year, in December and in June, for Parent-Teacher Conferences.
